Industrial automation systems and integration — Open technical
dictionaries and their application to catalogues — Overview |
Description |
This
part of ISO 22745 contains an introduction to ISO 22745, requirements
that all open technical dictionaries (OTDs) must satisfy; a
description of the OTD data architecture; a brief description
of the parts of ISO 22745; and a discussion of the relationship
between ISO 22745 and other standards that contain data models
for dictionaries or catalogues. |

Title |
Industrial automation systems and integration — Open technical
dictionaries and their application to catalogues — Dictionary
representation
|
Description |
This
part of ISO 22745 contains a conceptual model and a physical
file format for dictionaries. The conceptual model is in the
Unified Modeling Language (UML) and the physical file format
is an application of the Extensible Markup Language (XML) and
is specified using an XML Schema.

Industrial automation systems and integration — Open technical
dictionaries and their application to catalogues — Guidelines
for the formulation of cataloging terminology
|
Description |
This
part of ISO 22745 provides guidelines that are recommended for
the development of terminology (terms, definitions and images)
for concepts for cataloguing.
Compliance
with these guidelines is not required in order for a term
or definition to be included in an OTD. These guidelines are
provided as a framework for developers of industrial terminology
to ensure that definitions are consistent and understandable.
Terminology that complies with these guidelines will be marked
as such in the OTD. This will allow a user to perform a search
that filters terminology based on compliance with this part
of ISO 22745.

Industrial automation systems and integration — Open technical
dictionaries and their application to catalogues — Identification
of concepts and terminology
|
Description |
This
part of ISO 22745 specifies rules for identification of the
Dictionary Maintenance Organization (DMO) and the concepts,
terms, definitions and images within an Open Technical Dictionary
(OTD), and a syntax for identifiers. |

Industrial automation systems and integration — Open technical
dictionaries and their application to catalogues — Dictionary
query interface |
Description |
This
part of ISO 22745 specifies an abstract application program
interface (API) for querying certain information from an OTD,
and a Web Services binding of that interface. Included are two
services that all OTDs are required to support: (1) given a
concept identifier, return the terminology associated with that
concept, and (2) given a search expression for terminology,
return identifiers of concepts whose terminology matches the
search expression. |

Industrial automation systems and integration — Open technical
dictionaries and their application to catalogues — Procedures
for the maintenance of an open technical dictionary
|
Description |
This
part of ISO 22745 specifies the structure of the DMO and contains
a set of rules and procedures for maintenance of an OTD. Included
are rules concerning releases of an OTD, the procedure for adding
a concept to an OTD, the procedure for changing concept documentation
within an OTD, and the procedure for maintaining the lists of
prohibited basic nouns, allowable abbreviations, chemically
significant symbols, and chemical grade modifiers. |

Industrial automation systems and integration — Open technical
dictionaries and their application to catalogues — Identification
guide representation
|
Description |
This
part of ISO 22745 contains a conceptual model and a physical
file format for identification guides (IGs). An IG is a set
of rules for describing a particular class of items to meet
the needs of a data recipient. The conceptual model is in UML
and the physical file format is an application of XML and is
specified using an XML Schema. |

Industrial automation systems and integration — Open technical
dictionaries and their application to catalogues — Structure
and operation of the registration authority
|
Description |
This
part of ISO 22745 specifies the structure of the registration
authority (RA), which maintains a registry of ISO 22745-compliant
OTDs. Included in this part are: structure of the RA, procedure
for requesting that a dictionary be added to the registry, procedure
for challenging a dictionary’s registration, and procedure
for validating and updating a dictionary’s registration
record. |

Industrial automation systems and integration — Open technical
dictionaries and their application to catalogues — Implementation
guide for incorporating cataloguing information into ISO 10303
product data
|
Description |
This
part of ISO 22745 provides guidance for representing catalogue
using ISO 10303 application protocols. ISO 10303, Industrial
automation systems and integration — Product data representation
and exchange, is focused on representing products and processes.
In some cases it is beneficial to include catalogue data for
a product within an ISO 10303 file instead of using a separate
file conforming to ISO 22745-40. This part of ISO 22745 includes
mappings between the ISO 10303 and ISO 22745-40 representations
of catalogue data and provides examples of catalogue data and
its representation in both ISO 10303 and ISO 22745-40.
