An accurate and comprehensive material master is a valuable business asset; it lowers procurement costs, improves the speed of processing requisitions, reduces inventory, and improves the accuracy of spend analysis.
Free text (maverick) purchasing occurs when a purchase order does not reference the material master; the result is typically 15% higher cost and inaccurate spend analysis.
The answer to maintaining a high-quality material master and being able to onboard new materials quickly lies in understanding what data you need and how to ask for data from existing and potential suppliers.
In this one-hour webinar, Peter Benson will be covering the basic principles needed to collect and maintain quality material master data. Peter will also be addressing how to work with your suppliers to build and manage a truly useful material master as a business asset.
