Collaboration that strengthens knowledge and understanding of global supply chain data quality and interoperability needs and standards of today, and builds greater capacity for tomorrow

ECCMA is an international not-for-profit membership association that works to develop and advocate for industrial and supply chain data quality and interoperability through international consensus-based (ISO) standards. Our members are typically large corporations, government agencies, and technology providers, though we also have small and medium company, university, and individual professional members.

Part of our mission is to increase engagement with ISO standards by stakeholders around the world. Universities support this through teaching and research.

By introducing and deepening their students’ awareness of standards, a faculty can help students understand how different business areas use and are affected by standards. This better prepares them for the workforce where employers may require or benefit from standards use.

Professors, and sometimes their students, are often involved in standards’ development or implementation as they have the right skills and experience to conduct research on stakeholder needs and standards-based solutions to meet those needs.

If your faculty or curriculum plans involve or may benefit from wider and deeper engagement with standards, or industry and commercial initiatives around supply chain data quality and interoperability, we welcome a conversation with you!

ECCMA free self-study programs for students

ECCMA offers two free self-study programs that create a foundational understanding of the international standards that enable the digital supply chain.

They can be readily incorporated into your curriculum to provide a theoretical and practical learning opportunity for students. They help to increase awareness of international standards for data quality and interoperability, and offer potential to complement and add an extra learning dimension your existing supply chain, computer or data science, business, trade and economics, management, and international studies programs.

In practical terms, the minimum your university need do is to incorporate reference to these online programs into your teaching and assignment plans, or you could choose to integrate them further.

These are well-known programs in Industry and are good-to-go in a University study environment.
